Because staycations are a lot less hassle than vacations.
Want to spend some good ole family time with the kids, but no bandwidth to hop on a plane for a trip overseas? No worries, we have plenty of options here in Singapore that cater to the kids, so that you can keep them entertained while getting a little shut-eye or me-time yourself. Check out this list of kid-friendly/family friendly rooms for your upcoming staycation!

From themed family suites in a dedicated floor to Buds — an interactive indoor and outdoor play space for kids spanning some 1,872 square metres, the little ones will have a ball of a time at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore.
At Buds, there’s the Explorer Zone (for kids over 4 years old) which is filled with sand pits, nets, slides, ball pits and mazes; the Toddler Zone (for kids under 4 years old), which has swings and slides, an interactive piano floor, a ball pit and vintage kiddie rides; and the Outdoor Playground which features a giant pirate ship structure offering challenging climbs and slides, and a water play zone with splash pads. Buds encourages the little ones to learn through play in a creative, self-directed and experiential environment along with their parents, which is a great chance for bonding. Besides the awesome play space, there are three different activity rooms: Stage (music studio), Muddy (art studio) and Bake (baking room), not to mention a special Friday night activity called Superhero Fridays. Kids get to experience being a superhero (superhero cape and mask included) and participate in themed games, while you get to have a mini date night with your partner.
When the kiddos are tired, they can retire to whimsical and fun rooms. The Deluxe Family Rooms’ alcoves house a tent, along with a set of welcome toys and storybooks, while themed suites have adorable children’s rooms featuring different thematic designs (such as Treetop, Castle and Safari) that are connected to their parents room by a ‘secret’ passageway. Kids get to receive personalised letters which include a puzzle to solve. Upon solving it, the passcode obtained will unlock an in-room treasure chest that holds a surprise. Which kid wouldn’t be thrilled?
Buds by Shangri-La is located on the first floor of Tower Wing (indoor) and first floor of Garden Wing (outdoor) at Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore, 22 Orange Grove Road, 258350, tel: 6213 4833.
