Open and welcome to students, teachers and parents of all cultural backgrounds and faiths, SJI International believes in enabling and empowering children through education.
As a school with a Lasallian Catholic foundation, spirituality, mutual respect, internationalism, leadership, experiences and service are central to everything that it does. Today, SJI International has a community of 1,900 students across two schools on one campus. The Elementary School caters to expatriate children from preschool Prep 1 and 2 (ages 4 to 6) and Grade 1 to 6 (ages 7 to 12), while its High School admits both Singaporean and international students from Grade 7 to 12 (ages 13 to 18).
SJI International’s holistic approach to education is rooted in its one-of-a-kind curriculum. While adopting the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for Humanities and Science, the school has also included the MOE Singapore Mathematics Curriculum, in the belief that the problem-solving
skills learnt will be vital to its future-orientated students. Mandarin is offered as a compulsory subject, with Spanish as an available option for its Upper Elementary students. In addition, SJI International’s Language Arts is an effective hybrid of the English National Curriculum and components from the American System. Music, Drama and Art are introduced through various showcases and performances as well, allowing students to explore their interests in these areas.
Aside from the academic curriculum, SJI International provides Religious and Moral Education (RME) classes that allow students to grasp a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith, as well as other major religions and philosophies. These lessons aim to develop the students’ critical thinking and evaluation skills to help them appreciate different viewpoints and articulate their opinions.
At SJI International, your child will have access to a multitude of facilities. The Elementary School has 37 classrooms, a specialist library and Digital Technologies suites amongst other amenities. The school also has a Chapel, a sports complex with a climbing wall, a 25-metre swimming pool, an indoor sports hall and a FIFAapproved astroturf field, plus basketball and tennis courts.
