Stamford American International School offers the full International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculums aligned to American Education Reaches Out (AERO) standards.
Students can choose from multiple, graduating pathways – the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, US-recognised Advanced Placement (AP) courses or a blended programme. Reggio-Emilia inspired and educational by design, the Early Learning Village is purpose-built for young learners from 18 months to 6 years, and provides sensorial learning at every turn.
With a diverse community of over 65 nationalities, Stamford’s World Language Program offers Mandarin, Spanish and English taught by native-speaking specialists. Students may choose from daily instruction in Mandarin or Spanish, bilingual Mandarin/English or specialist English learning where English is not the first language. Plus, the parent-led Mother Tongue Program offers 12 languages and continues to grow.
Specialist classes are part of the curriculum from the start, and are offered through the Suzuki Violin Program for Music, SMART Steps, Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) for physical education and more.
The Athletics Program commits to sport for all while developing student athletes to reach their fullest potential through its 96 competitive sports teams, more than 250 co-curricular choices and 60 specialist coaches. There’s a rich diversity of sports and world-class facilities, all focused on inspiring students to achieve more than they believe they can.
“The world-class, purpose-built facilities and diversity of nationalities appealed to our family. The girls are exposed to various cultures and traditions, and bounce off the school bus excitedly, singing in Mandarin and showing off their artwork. The hands-on experiences in the classroom has helped our shy and quiet 2.5-year-old to blossom into a loud, confident almost-4-year-old. I also love that the school has a strong parent network, which has allowed me to make new friends after arriving in a new country.” – Irina, mum to Madeleine, Pre Kindergarten & Charlotte, Kindergarten 2
