ISS International School ensures that all its children are ready for the world beyond the classroom.
At the core of the ISS International School in Singapore’s early learning programme is the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), which guides children to become independent inquiry based learners.
This PYP pedagogy focuses on the development of the whole child – in the classroom and the world outside – and offers a framework that meets the academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs of each learner.
Proven Success
Nestled among the treetops of Telok Blangah Hill National Park, ISS is Singapore’s longest established IB Continuum school, with almost four decades of research and experience dedicated to refining its approach. This experience, together with the goal of developing independent learners, has led to the creation of a relevant, engaging, challenging and significant educational
framework for all children. It also ensures the success of each of ISS’s learners by customising what they learn and how they learn it and encouraging them accordingly
One Big Family
As a family-owned school, ISS is a tightly knit community, and includes alumni in its faculty
and administration. It offers an international school structure but with the culture of a village
school, where no one gets lost in the crowd and everyone knows one another. ISS believes that this is essential in making it easier for its students to find their voice and express themselves in a
safe and accepting setting. ISS is also proud of its non-selective learning environment in which all
students are valued, supported and included.
Learning, Accelerated
Launched in August 2020, the ISS Learning Accelerator Programme focuses on how individual students learn by providing various tools for them to identify their areas of strengths and weaknesses. Areas for development are then discussed with students and parents, and a personalised learning plan is drawn up with the help of teachers. Resources needed to support the outcomes are also made available, all while the students’ progress is closely monitored by teachers throughout the year.
