Code smart.
As Singapore moves towards building a smart nation, Kinderland ensures its students are digitally ready.
At Kinderland, students have the opportunity to develop computational thinking through its fun coding activities embedded in the curriculum throughout Nursery to Kindergarten 2 (K2). Early exposure not only provides an excellent way for students to better acquire foundational skills to code in the long run, but it also develops logical thinking that’s paramount in the 21st century.
Early Innovators
Conducted in both small and large group settings, the coding classes for students in Nursery lasts 45 minutes, whereas children in K1 and K2 have an hour.
In Nursery, the children get to play games with coding toys like “Code-a-pillar” and “Bee Bot”, in which they will be made aware of and explore segmented blocks and functional keypads to programme their screenless gadgets.
As students progress to K1, they’ll get a more hands-on experience with “The Robot Mouse” and “Albert The Smart Robot”. These activities will help them acquire advanced functional keypad skills and work together as a team to create sequences. In K2, students learn with applications like “Dash Robot” and “Scratch Junior.” These are essentially an introductory experience to using different gadgets and applications.
Become Problem-solvers
In addition to understanding and applying their perseverance in using challenging gadgets and applications, children will also be able to create longer sequences and graphical algorithms to problem-solve.
Its coding curriculum not only develops critical thinking and creativity but also nurtures an interest in innovation, and instills a growth mindset that promotes discipline and good habits.
Apart from its coding curriculum, Kinderland specialises in other unique programmes as well, such as the Children’s Music Programme, KinderFit, and Literacy Through I.T. To enquire more about its curriculum, visit the website.
