Fulfil your child’s potential at Nexus International School (Singapore) , with its Early Childhood space and contemporary play-based approach.
Nexus International School (Singapore) prides itself on its contemporary approach to teaching and learning, which aims to help its students develop their curiosity through play —particularly for the youngest children.
Just one impressive example: At the school’s new Aljunied campus, it has a devoted space specially for Early Childhood learners (Nursery to Year 2), that includes sensory bins, water play, dress-up racks, reading nooks and mini furniture.
Experiential Everything
At Nexus, each child is taught based on his or her personal motivations and talents, which are cultivated through play, as well as specialist lessons in swimming, music, physical education and art. And the lessons are anything but ordinary! Recently, Kindergarten children woke one morning to discover their pod had a night-time visitor: a monkey. They were told they could only communicate with the monkey via notes. They were so excited and passionate about what they were doing, their writing was elevated.
Distinctive Environment
Nexus’s Nursery and Kindergarten pods are housed separately within the school, ensuring its littlest learners are able to fully enjoy and immerse themselves in the environment created. The space has its own kitchen, mindfulness area, playground and dining room, too. Plus, there is plenty of room for little ones to move around and explore; play areas include a treehouse, mud kitchen and scooter course.
Play-Based Education
The learning in Nexus’s Early Childhood programme follows a play-based and inquiry system as part of the IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme). For instance, last year, its Nursery children explored a unit of inquiry on recycling and built an entire garden by utilising upcycled and recycled items. Through such activities, Nexus aims to develop children who independently seek to learn more through their daily experiences
