With the aim of inspiring students to create their unique future, Stamford American International School welcomes diversity and tailors the education pathway to their ambitions.
It is the first and only school in Singapore to offer students aged 18 months to 18 years the opportunity to pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Advanced Placement (AP) International Diploma on top of graduating with a U.S. accredited Stamford High School Diploma.
Stamford American believes that there is an opportunity for every child no matter where their passion lies. Its team of educators are intent on helping each student succeed in their ambition, using a personalised approach in a caring, supportive and inclusive academic environment.
Fluency in multiple languages isn’t just a valuable asset, it can also help with a greater appreciation of different cultures. Stamford American is home to more than 75 nationalities, and accommodates global language learning for children as young as 18 months through its World Language Program. The course offers daily instruction in three of the world’s most widely spoken languages: Mandarin, Spanish and English. When paired with its community-based Mother Tongue Program, Stamford American’s language curriculum offers literacy in more than a dozen languages.
In October 2019, Stamford American hosted a Mission Discovery Space and STEM programme, where the region’s brightest young minds worked with an astronaut, renowned scientists and NASA Leaders in the first ever Mission Discovery Programme held in Singapore.
“Stamford American has gone above and beyond our expectations. Both of our girls have had amazing teachers here. Beatrice loves art and drama, and has been part of the school’s productions; Filippa has had a great time on the gymnastics team and loves her math extension class. The teachers made them feel welcome even though they didn’t know English. Now, they have learnt both English and Mandarin, and met many new friends! The dedicated teachers also help nurture the special interest or talent of each student.” – Charlotta and Daniel, parents of Filippa, Grade 5, and Beatrice, Grade 1
