There is no escaping the food culture in Singapore.
And, savvy consumers here are keen to recreate food trends in their own kitchens. Many, turn to ToTT Store for their kitchenware needs. “When we first opened in 2010, we were treading in new waters with our cooking studio and bistro,” Grace remembers of the family business she runs with her dad, Tan Choon Boon. Today, the company – whose name is short for “Tools of The Trade” – has two stores to encourage folks in SG to cook, bake and host more. It also leverages platforms such as Lazada, RedMart and Shopee for customers’ e-shopping convenience.

Outside of work, Grace spends her weekends taking her two energetic kiddos, aged 4 and 8, out for exercise and enrichment classes such as badminton, Chinese drama, drums and swimming. She also signs them up for the Junior Chef cooking classes at ToTT Store. “Cooking is a life skill, and my husband won me over with his cooking back when we first met in San Francisco,” shares Grace of her Chinese-American spouse, Wen.
Given that Singapore has amazing options for well-made food at various different price points, it can be difficult to decide where to eat. Not for Grace! She shares her absolute favourite places to dine are Yakiniku Yazawa, Alma by Juan Amador, Cheng Heng Kway Chap and Braised Duck Rice and Famous Treasure.
