…with a little help from Mendis Aesthetics
You’re eating healthier foods and working out several days a week. But, you’re still struggling to get the kind of body toning you’d like to achieve. So frustrating, right? Well, don’t give up! Consider one of Mendis Aesthetics’ latest non-surgical solutions to complement your health and fitness efforts.
Recently launched in Singapore, Emsculpt uses high-intensity, focused electromagnetic waves (Hifem) to minimise fat and tone muscles in areas like your abdomen, buttocks, upper arms, biceps and triceps. “During the procedure, the waves are designed to trigger powerful contractions, which forces your muscle tissue to adapt to the energy surge,” explains clinic founder Dr. Rohan Mendis.
This process, he adds, is said to trigger a state called apoptosis, where your body’s fat cells are permanently broken down. Furthermore, Emsculpt is designed to cause the thickening, strengthening and sculpting of the muscles.
Dr. Mendis notes that safety is an important aspect of the Emsculpt procedure, which has been supported by more than 15 independent, multi-centre studies in the USA.
“Emsculpt is a nonsurgical, FDA-approved procedure, which only requires you to lie down, while the device is placed over the area of concern,” he explains. He also says that the procedure is effective, and has no post-procedure downtime. While some patients experience slight soreness after the treatment – as if they had just done a strenuous workout – most say that Emsculpt is painless.
Each 30-minute session is said to be equivalent to doing 20,000 crunches or squats, and Dr. Mendis claims that tangible results may be felt right after the procedure.
Ongoing improvements, he claims, will continue to show itself several weeks after the procedure is complete.
“I always recommend shorter, high-intensity workouts, as this is the key to burning more calories,” advises Dr. Mendis.
