Oh My Goodness! is changing people's opinions of gluten-free food, making mouth-watering morsels for those with food allergies or sensitivities in Singapore.
Velvety, sumptuous gluten-free and dairy-free dark chocolate cakes – these were the cakes that kick-started Singapore food company Oh My Goodness!
How so? None of the founder and director, Ramya Ragupathi’s, friends believed gluten-free cakes in Singapore could taste so good. Realising that Singapore was lacking such food options catering to those with food allergies and sensitivities, Ramya (read more about her!) launched Oh My Goodness! in 2016 to bring delicious gluten-free, refined sugar- and dairy-free baked goods to the masses in Singapore.
Today, the sought-after food brand is stocked at restaurants like Joe & Dough and The Butcher’s Wife and on e-tailers such as Sasha’s Fine Foods and Amazon Prime Now.
One Stop Shop
Oh My Goodness! is the only gluten-free certified food company in Asia, and is also fully Halal-certified. Better than that? Its decadent cakes, hearty bread loaves, healthy cookies and more are actually affordable– ranging from the $4.90 Ultimate Breakfast Cookie (a.k.a, the Gollybrekkie) to the $39 Golly – the brand’s Signature Dark Chocolate Cake. Beyond the sweeter stuff, Oh My Goodness! offers soft, springy Gollybells Walnut Bread ($8.90 for three rolls) and nut-free Gollybuck Vegan Buckwheat Bread ($10.90 for a loaf), which boasts a nutty flavour without using nuts. It even has a Gollyzza Vegan Pizza Base at $9.90 for a box of two. (Tip: You can save 12 percent by purchasing its Bundles of Goodness, which lets you get all of your favourites in one click.)
“We have bucked the expectations that gluten-free food tastes bad and costs a bomb,” says Ramya, who notes the brand aims to “check all the free-from boxes” – a boon for parents worried about their children’s food sensitivities and young adults experiencing their first signs of food sensitivity.
Food with Heart
Oh My Goodness! is a business that truly cares – and not just for its customers’ satisfaction. It extends this same consciousness to both those less fortunate and to planet Earth. Specifically, it boasts an inclusive work environment – with the production team staffed exclusively by persons with intellectual disabilities, ex-offenders and low-income women. Plus, the brand is constantly working towards a #zerofoodwaste goal.
Super Specials
