We all know there is an app for everything we do in life now and wellness apps certainly fall into this category as you can track everything from calories, steps walked, hours of sleep, heart rate and workouts. So how do you decide which ones are right for you?
Here are my selections of the best ones to have that will keep you on track no matter where you are in your wellness journey.
1. MIND – OMG. I Can Meditate!
This app is a must for everyone to have on hand. With meditations that range from 2 minutes to 20 minutes, there is bound to be something that appeals to all levels of mindfulness. Besides the daily meditation program, there are also specific ones to help you through any situation such as – Attracting Abundance, Finding Love, Dealing with Anxiety, and even a My Boss is a Jerk! meditation!
You can connect using your desktop, laptop, iPad, iPhone, Android phone or tablet, so there really is no excuse not to be relaxed 24/7.
2. MUSIC – Spring
Spring Moves refer to themselves as the world’s first musical energy company. The app is a rhythm fuelled music service and exercise tracker that basically allows you to walk, run or bike in time with music, just like you do when you dance. DJs curate specific playlists every day, or you have the option to mix your own. With claims that you can increase your endurance by 15% with the right music – who doesn’t want to give it a go!
3. TRACKING – Argus
Want to track EVERYTHING? Then this is the app for you! It is easy to use and runs in the background of your phone so you don’t even know it’s there. And then at the end of the day it shows you via a set of charts what you have achieved. It will track your sleep, steps, calories, heartrate and more.
4. TRAINING – 7 Minute Workout
The Johnson & Johnson 7 Minute Workout App is the fast, simple, science-based way to work out anywhere, anytime. You have the ability to create and customise over 1,000 different variation of workouts, from 72 exercises and 22 additional workouts , so you won’t be bored after a week. It also which gauges your fitness and motivation level and recommends different workout programmes along with intensity increases.
5. FOOD – FitMenCook
Looking for an app that lets you choose meals by macros and nutritional levels such as low carb, weight loss, and after workout? Then this is the one for you. FitMenCook features recipes based on mostly all-natural ingredients with an ethos of vibrant, delicious meals that are budget friendly and easy to prepare for anyone.
6. SOULMATE – Sweatt
Hot to the market is the Tinder for fitness lovers – Sweatt. Designed to match people who are committed to a fit life, and looking for a partner who wants the same. During the sign up process you are asked about your favourite workouts (running, crossfit, yoga) and what time of day you like to sweat, and then it matches you with people close by who share the same interests and goals.
Worst case scenario – you might not find love, but you could find a new workout buddy! You can sign up to be on the waitlist as it launches early 2016.
