After this year’s Expatpreneur eAward winners were announced on The Finder’s site in early July, the public had one week to vote for a People Favourite Award winner. Nearly 1,500 votes came in, and the SG community chose – drumroll, please – Vicky!
As someone who’s been involved in the dance scene for more than a decade – as a performer, choreographer and teacher in Canada, London, New York and Singapore – she has surely built up a solid track record for dance instruction. It also doesn’t hurt that she holds a Professional Dance and Musical Theatre Diploma plus a Masters in Arts Management. All of this experience came into play when Vicky decided to start her own business, All The Jazz Dance Academy, in SG in 2015.
Setting it up, however, wasn’t necessarily smooth sailing. “The early days were tough, as I did everything by myself, with very long hours and very little sleep,” says Vicky, who has two little ones – Honor, 5, and Hayden, 3 – with hubby Mathew. “I was also pregnant with my first baby, which made it even harder.”
The perseverance paid off: Vicky has grown the brand to include two spacious dance studios, which have produced many talented dancers and happy students. All That Jazz also offers co-curricular dance classes to multiple international schools around the island. Says Vicky, “I feel very blessed to be able to go to work each day and do what I love most.”

About The Finder Expatpreneur Awards
In 2017, The Finder debuted its first-ever Expatpreneur Awards to honour foreign-born entrepreneurs running successful expat-owned businesses in or from Singapore. In 2019, 22 expats were awarded for their tremendous dedication. This 2020, a new batch of 19 winners has been unveiled! All of them have one thing in common: Their brands help people “live well in Singapore” – The Finder’s core mission.
