Former colleagues and fellow mums Tuyen and Constance were inspired to start Alcheme Skincare in 2017 after talking to too many women who didn’t understand their own skin.
Through research, they found that 75 percent of women were using the wrong skincare products for their skin type!
“We decided to harness developments in technology to create a platform that not only educated women on their skin needs, but also offered personalised and high-performance solutions to help them meet their skin goals,” share the friends and business partners, who both worked in the beauty industry in Asia Pacific. Tuyen and Constance moved to Singapore with their husbands in 2004 and 2011, respectively, and met while working in the APAC office of a French skincare and cosmetics luxury brand.
Today, Alcheme Skincare’s core offering is Conscious Skincare – “that is, being conscious of what you put on your skin, and how those ingredients are derived, can lead to smarter and more sustainable decisions,” explains the duo, who continue to stay humble despite having already won multiple awards.
“There is a positive and entrepreneurial mindset in Singapore,” they say. “From day one, we were able to get meetings with business partners, without being dismissed as too small.”
About The Finder Expatpreneur Awards
In 2017, The Finder debuted its first-ever Expatpreneur Awards to honour foreign-born entrepreneurs running successful expat-owned businesses in or from Singapore. In 2018, 23 expats were awarded for their tremendous dedication. This 2019, a new batch of 22 Expatpreneur Awardees have been unveiled! All of them have one thing in common: Their brands help people “live well in Singapore” – The Finder’s core mission.
