Last year, The Finder debuted its first-ever Expatpreneur Awards to honour foreign-born entrepreneurs running successful, expat-owned businesses in or from Singapore. All of our inaugural 23 Expatpreneur Awardees showed admirable vision and drive. (Read about the 2017 winners in the following categories: Lifestyle, Home, Beauty + Wellness and Kids + Family.)
But, the honourees also had one more thing in common: Their brands help people “live well in Singapore” – The Finder’s core mission.
As the longest-running publication for expats in Singapore – started by two British expats in 1993 to provide trusted business listings to fellow foreigners – The Finder was founded on entrepreneurship and serving the community.

So, for its second edition of the Expatpreneur Awards, The Finder assembled a panel of esteemed judges, including founder and principal researcher at Expat Research and Singapore University of Social Sciences senior lecturer Dr. Yvonne McNulty, who is credited with coining the term “expat-preneur” in 2015. Learn more about the term from Dr. Yvonne McNulty in the video below.
Plus, The Finder raised the stakes and rewards in 2018 by allowing the nominees to vie for six Special Awards as well. We celebrated all of this year’s winners at an awards event Thursday, May 17, held at Jones the Grocer at Great World City. (Know someone – including yourself – deserving of an Expatpreneur Award? Now, drum roll, please! These are this year’s incredibly inspiring, impressive and deserving Expatpreneur Award winners. They are featured in Issue 292 of The Finder, which you can download for free.
