Expatpreneur Awards 2017: How This Trailing Expat Started A Successful Business On Her First Try

This month, we’re celebrating the successes of savvy expatriates and Singaporeans, as well as the setbacks they overcame, to make life better in Singapore in our Expatpreneur Awards 2017. 

According to the professor who came up with the term “expatpreneur” (find out how we picked the awardees here), an average entrepreneur fails about seven times before scoring a win.

Brazilian Andrea Groth, who left behind a marketing career of 10 years to follow her now-husband to Singapore in 2003, #nailedit on her “first adventure” in business.

In 2006, she and several partners opened The Children’s Showcase, an emporium of high-end kids brands. There are now two eye-catching outlets around the city – one in Tanglin Mall, the other at PasarBella @ The Grandstand.
