This month, we’re celebrating the successes of savvy expatriates and Singaporeans, as well as the setbacks they overcame, to make life better in Singapore in our Expatpreneur Awards 2017.
Behind the cafes 40 Hands, Common Man Coffee Roasters and Grounded by CMCR is Co-founder and Partner Harry Grover.
“I love that Singapore, from a business perspective, is fast-paced and dynamic,” says Harry, who moved to Singapore from Australia in 2010 to start specialty coffee cafe 40 Hands as well as work on other F&B projects with partners. “You can get things done here.”
And get things done, he has: Harry co-founded Common Man Coffee Roasters at its popular Martin Road location in 2013, a Malaysian outlet of Common Man Coffee Roasters KL in 2016 and – just this past year – opened cosy, light-filled Grounded by CMCR upstairs from Common Man.
He sells CMCR’s expertly roasted beans and more online and even runs CMCR Academy to train would-be baristas.
