A first-generation Singaporean born to Sri Lankan expat parents, Dr. Rohan Mendis studied and received most of his medical training right here in Singapore.
It was no surprise then that he decided to open Mendis Aesthetics on the island. “Not only was it a dream to do so, it was also a natural progression after years of study and training here,”
explains Dr. Mendis.
Giving Good Face
“I have been practicing aesthetics for the last 17 years,” says Dr. Mendis, who is passionate about procedures and techniques that aim to help minimise the typical side effects of ageing such as wrinkles, loose skin and fat accumulation.
One of Mendis Aesthetics’ more popular procedures is Thermage CPT, which uses patented radiofrequency (RF) technology to heat the deeper layers of skin, said to boost collagen growth for younger-looking skin. In addition, he also offers Exilis, which combines focused radio frequency waves, thermal energy and ultrasound technology to reduce fat, wrinkles and skin laxity. Other options include Botox, chemical peels, Fillers, lasers, microdermasion, Transdermal Therapy, Threadlift and Rejuran. “We pride ourselves in staying abreast with the newest technology and industry innovations and offer an advanced range of services,” says Dr. Mendis.
A Well-Rounded Approach
Dr. Mendis’s extensive client list – a blend of expats, Singaporeans and international patients – continues to grow, thanks to his friendly, open approach that puts patients at ease despite the cultural differences.
“In the past, clients who sought aesthetic treatments were in their late 50s or 60s, but now, my clients’ ages range between 30 and 80,” muses Dr. Mendis. But it’s not age that matters in aesthetics, says Dr. Mendis, adding, “It isn’t just about undergoing aesthetics procedures; it is also important to have a good diet, exercise and an overall lifestyle change.”
