Of course, you could pile on the cosmetics that give you radiant-looking skin, but nothing beats the glow from within, even sans make-up.
Ceramides aid in water retention on a cellular level due to its fatty composition. Water molecules within the skin cells will find it difficult to escape, thus skin cells will remain plump with moisture for longer. Say hello to glowy, dewy skin!
Retinol, a form of vitamin A, are great for promoting cell turnover. Skin-clogging dead skin cells will shake off upon usage, your skin will be decongested and your skin tone evened out.
Products containing retinol are best used at night before bed, as this compound is sensitive to light. Because your skin will be thinner by the next day, don’t forget your sunscreen before leaving the house.
On days when your skin requires a pick-me-up, AHAs remove dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, revealing baby soft skin that light would bounce off of, giving you the radiance that you desire.
Some examples include glycolic acid and lactic acid. Again, don’t forget your sunscreen!
Don’t be fooled by the word “acid”. This ingredient is a potent humectant, holding up to 1000 times its weight in water. The result? Plumped up skin that’s moisturised and delightfully dewy.
Vitamin C is great for enhancing the radiance in your skin. Its acidic nature helps to slough off dead skin cells gently, which brings younger-looking skin to the surface.
Plus, on a cellular level, it promotes the production of collagen, which lifts skin, making it appear firmer and tighter.
