Spread love and cheer with these Deepavali mithai on November 14.
Festive goodies, from mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival to log cakes for Christmas, are getting more newfangled and fancy every year. For the upcoming Deepavali celebrations, some Indian restaurants in Singapore are putting a twist on the traditional Indian sweets (called mithai), too.
Traditional flavours are milk- and nut-based, and the sweets come in varieties such as burfi (milk-based sweets), ladoo (flour- and ghee based balls) and jalebi (deep-fried flour batter drenched in syrup). But think mithai with a twist, with creative, modern flavours and ornate packaging.
Here are some places in Singapore to try out some fancy Deepavali mithai – all from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Kicking off the grand lineup of Diwali treats this festive season is Rang Mahal‘s – Singapore’s leading Indian fine-dining restaurants – collection of mithai (sweet confections). This year’s Diwali mithai collection comprises a range of healthy ingredients and wholesome flavours!
Rest assured about sinking your teeth into these decadent delights, Rang Mahal mithais are freshly made daily with no preservatives and using wholesome ingredients. The treats are encased in a range of beautiful classic and premium boxes that come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours reminding you of good times and everlasting goodness.
From 1 Nov 2020 till 14 Nov 2020, Rang Mahal’s mithais are available in three classic boxes, priced at $68+ and $118+:
1. Royal Premium ($118+)
30 mithais, 4 savouries.
2. Birds and Botanicals (pictured, $68+)

These treats aren’t the only sweet things Rang Mahal is doing this festive season. In its continual efforts to support the community, for the past year and this, they will also be donating 10% of profits from its mithai sales to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Singapore.
